The Kennel Club’s Bill Lambert said social media had made people aware of more breeds but warned: ‘Don’t just choose a pet based on trends and popular culture.’
Other European breeds becoming more popular include the Italian pointer, the Belgian shepherd dog and the Portuguese water dog.
