He is one of the most powerful men in fashion. So it is of little surprise the guestlist for Edward Enninful’s wedding read like a who’s who of A-list royalty.

The British Vogue editor-in-chief tied the knot with long-term partner Alec Maxwell in Wiltshire yesterday, surrounded by close friends including Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Victoria Beckham.

The star-studded bash, which coincided with the fashion supremo’s 50th birthday, was held at the 16th century  Longleat House, home to Enninful’s close friend Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, and her husband, the 8th Marquess.

It is thought D&G model Emma, 35, gave Enninful and Maxwell use of the historic stately home as a wedding present.

A small number of close friends were reportedly invited to see Edward and Alec exchange vows in The Orangery, an intimate space which ordinarily costs a minimum of £275-per-person to hire.

Celebrations continued into the night with some 300 guests including Leonardo DiCaprio and Rihanna expected at the evening bash. The evening is thought to have taken place inside the main house – an option not available to ordinary paying couples.

Catering was provided by high-end London firm Cellar Society, whose clients include Rolex, Harrods and Balenciaga, and flowers by Simon J Lycett, who did the floristry for Princess Eugenie’s 2018 wedding to Jack Brooksbank.

A large number of guests including Poppy Delevingne, 35, stayed at nearby Babington House, part of the Soho House group. A cabin at Babington House can cost up to £1,180, although only members can book.

Babington House guests were seen arriving in their casual clothes, some with their hair and makeup already done, before changing into their black tie finery for the celebrations.

It was a night of big name designers, with ensembles by Dior, Chanel and Victoria Beckham all on show.

The Orangery was decorated in a tasteful and elegant fashion for the service, with an impressive flower arch by royal florist Simon Lycett dominating one end of the glass structure.

It is thought guests were treated to music played on a grand piano and sipped on Champagne.

Guests arriving in the evening were treated to the spectacular site of Longleat lit up against the night sky. Vogue Australia editor Christine Centenera shared a photograph of the stunning view.

Designer Marc Jacobs, British Vogue fashion critic Anders Christian Madsen, Italian model Bianca Brandolini and Derek Blasberg, head of fashion and beauty at YouTube, were also in attendance.

Details of the party were kept under wraps, no doubt to be revealed in one of the Conde Nast publications, if at all, but florists and a stage production company were seen arriving on site ahead of the event.

It was also reported that a nearby pub was closed to accommodate the wedding/birthday bash, although this has not been confirmed.

‘This is going to be the wedding of the year – there will be no expense spared and no detail ignored,’ a source previously told the Mail on Sunday.
