AFL star Brendan Fevola broke down in tears as he spoke about the tragic death of his best friend Shane Warne during his live radio show on Monday morning.

The 41-year-old, who played poker with the cricket legend just two weeks ago at his Melbourne home, said he was struggling ‘to come to terms’ with the news and was heartbroken for Warne’s young children – Jackson, 23, Brooke, 24, and Summer, 20.

‘I can’t stop thinking about them – those poor kids have lost their dad,’ he said during his Fifi, Fev and Nick show. ‘They shared their lives with their dad and now they have to grieve with the world about their dad as well.’

‘There’s nothing really we can do to help, but I just hope they know that their dad was one of the best people anyone would ever meet,’ he added, before choking it up. ‘He was a great man. A good man.’

Warne died at age 52 on Friday from a heart attack while holidaying in Koh Samui, Thailand, with friends.

Fevola also shared a photo of his boy’s poker night with Warne two weeks ago and said all of his mates were ‘shattered’.

‘He was a great man. A good man,’ Fevola (pictured) said about his friend in the heartbreaking video

Heartache: The 41-year-old, who was best friends with the Australian cricketer, couldn’t hid his emotions as he discussed how Shane’s young children Jackson, 23, Brooke, 24, and Summer, 20, would be coping over the loss of their beloved father. All pictured

‘That group – we caught up for poker nights which were always at Shane’s garage, his house, his holiday house,’ he said.

‘He was the life of the party. The life of the poker. All our poker mates just rang each other [on the night of his death]. There was just big, grown men balling their eyes out. I didn’t stop crying all Saturday.’

Fevola, who also starred alongside Warne on the 2016 series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, went on to say what made Warne so special was that he treated ‘everyone the same’ – from his ‘rich billionaire friends’ to a passer-by in the street.

‘He made you feel so special when you were in his presence, he made you feel like you were the king,’ he said.

‘He did that with everyone in the room, and not many people can do that or have those qualities.

‘Everyone always says “I’m mates with Warnie” because that’s how he made you feel. You were his mate. He’d stop and talk to everyone.

‘Seeing all the headlines – I can’t come to grips with it yet. It hasn’t sunk in.’

Fevola, who has endured his fair share of controversies in the past, said he ‘learned a lot’ from his best mate Warne.

‘It wasn’t just his cricket, it was his off-field stuff,’ he said. ‘So many people can relate. I could relate to it, as I stuffed up a lot in my life.

‘I learned off Shane – you just own up to it. You own it, and then people can’t have a crack at you. That was his philosophy. He was a great human.’

He also praised Shane for his charitable nature, adding: ‘He did so much for kids – he’d cop a lot of s**t from people, but he’d look after kids and some of those kids lives that he changed.

‘I learned off Shane – you just own up to it. You own it, and then people can’t have a crack at you. That was his philosophy. He was a great human,’ he added

‘He raised millions and millions – he didn’t have to do that.’

Shane was found dead on Friday evening while on holiday in Koh Samui, Thailand.

Four friends staying with the cricket star battled to save his life for 20 minutes, police have said.

The Australian cricketer turned pundit and businessman, and the greatest leg spinner in history, was found unconscious in a villa in the resort.

Thai police said that Warne was staying in the villa with four friends, and when one of the group tried to wake Shane for food at around 5pm local time today he was found to be unresponsive.

Officers said his friends performed CPR on him for around 20 minutes before an ambulance arrived and took Warne to the Thai International Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police Senior Sergeant Major Suporn Hemruangsree said: ‘Police received a report about somebody who died at the Thai International Hospital so we went and asked the hotel, and found out that the deceased was with four other friends and died in the room.

‘In the villa, the people were sleeping in separate rooms. They were sleeping from afternoon to evening, until about 5pm.

‘At 5pm somebody came to call out this person for dinner but the deceased did not respond so they called three other friends to perform CPR for 20 minutes. They waited for the ambulance to come.

‘The doctor announced the death of the person at 6:53pm. Police went and checked the room and there was no sign of intrusion or possessions being searched through. The body was sent for an autopsy at Koh Samui Hospital.’

Warne’s manager separately confirmed his death, saying that the father-of-three could not be revived.

‘It is with great sadness we advise that Shane Keith Warne passed away of a suspected heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand today, Friday March 4,’ a statement from the management company read.

The statement added: ‘Shane was found unresponsive in his Villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.’
