In a stunning fall from grace, fashion designer Karen Millen – once one of the biggest names on the high street – has had to sell her beloved £2.5 million home after being declared bankrupt.

I can reveal that the 58-year-old, whose empire once boasted 400 eponymous shops in 65 countries, has dramatically downsized from the palatial home in Kent that was her ‘pride and joy’.

She and partner Ben Charnaud have now moved to a four-bedroom farmhouse a few miles away.

The old house – which boasted a swimming pool, lake, private cinema and football pitch – went on the market in 2018 after Karen, left, was declared bankrupt over a £6 million unpaid tax bill.

She started her business with a £100 loan in 1981 and sold it for £35 million in 2004.

So far it has been the greatest lockdown love story ever told. But comedian Jack Whitehall’s romance with new girlfriend Roxy Horner nearly came to a split end – after she got to work on his precious tresses.

‘She cut my hair. It was very severe,’ Jack, 31, moaned about 28-year-old model Roxy, who was previously linked to Leonardo DiCaprio.

‘I had to secretly FaceTime my hairdresser. I was like, ‘What has she done to me?’

‘There was a bald patch which she attacked a little bit too vigorously. I had a mullet for some time as well, which she hadn’t told me about. She was like, ‘I like the fluffy bits at the back!’ ‘

If the relationship can weather these cutting remarks, it really must be true love!
