Teenagers aged 14 and 15 are arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 20s is found dead on a footpath

Six people, including a boy of 14 and three aged 15, have been arrested following a man’s death in Shropshire.

West Mercia Police said the four teenage boys had been arrested on suspicion of murder and a man and a woman in their 40s were held on suspicion of assisting offenders.

Officers were called at 7.20pm on Friday to a footpath near Stonebridge Close, Telford, following reports that a man in his 20s was seriously injured.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance but died later that evening.

Police say the death is being treated as suspicious.

They all remain in custody.

Chief Inspector Helen Kinrade said: ‘We understand this will be extremely concerning to the community.

‘We would like to reassure the public that the investigation is ongoing and this is believed to be an isolated incident.’
