It’s the go-to video conferencing app for many people around the world, but it appears that Zoom has crashed this morning. 

According to DownDetector, the issues started at around 08:45 BST, and are affecting users worldwide. 

While the reason for the outage remains unclear, of those who reported issues, 60 per cent said they were having issues joining conferences, while 30 per cent were struggling to start conferences. 

Meanwhile, 10 per cent said they were having problems logging in altogether. 

MailOnline has contacted Zoom for comment.  

It’s the go-to video conferencing app for many people around the world, but it appears that Zoom has crashed this morning

Zoom said on its Twitter account: ‘We are aware of a subset of customers experiencing errors while joining a live meeting. 

‘We are currently investigating and will provide updates as we have them. Apologies for any inconvenience.’

On Zoom’s online status page, the firm lists its Zoom Meetings capability as having ‘degraded performance’, while all other services are ‘operational’.

Another user said they can’t get the platform to work at all. Zoom apologised for the outage and said it will provide updates ‘as we have them’

One Zoom user tweeted that the platform ‘also has Monday blues’, while another said ‘We can’t get our Zoom to work at all!’

Twitter user @MikeJonesPhD, based in Canberra, Australia, said: ‘We’ve just tried about five different links from multiple accounts and can’t start a meeting!’ 

Australians had been plagued by problems on the platform early on Monday at the start of their working day, affecting locked-down workers and students. 

‘Is Zoom down for anyone else or is that just a ‘my school’ problem,’ wrote one student on Twitter.

‘Zoom down, emails down… how is everyone else’s Monday going?’ wrote another Twitter user
