Doctor: South Africa has seen ‘uncoupling’ of Omicron infections and deaths
Dr. Shabir Madhi, professor of vaccinology at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, say that even though Omicron is spreading at a higher rate than the Delta variant, it is killing people at a lower rate indicating an “uncoupling of infection and severe disease and death.”
