Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall got a true taste of Irish tradition today when they were enticed on to the dance floor to practice a few notoriously energetic céilí steps.
The couple were seen grinning and grimacing simultaneously as they were shown the basic ‘123’ steps of a traditional Irish dance at the Bru Boru Cultural Centre in County Tipperary on the second day of their visit to the Republic.
Charles, 73, was a good sport as he was shown some moves by professional Irish dancers, and while not quite at Riverdance standards, he gamely graced the floor with some toe tapping himself.
Camilla, 74, looked on in glee as her husband took up the world-famous dance, while others looked on clapping, and the Duchess soon got involved herself and was shown around the dance floor by an eager volunteer.

After their tour of the castle, the coupe waved at the fans who were enthusiastically waiting for them
The Duchess of Cornwall and local councillor Mary Murphy sampled some of the local ice-cream at the market
Prince Charles also observed how the local produce of County Tipperary stacks up against his Duchy organic food, as he and his wife toured the market in sunny Cahir.
Camilla gave a masterclass in diplomatic dressing in a deep green coat she wore over a matching forest green dress.
The royals sampled some of the cheese, jams and cakes on offer, gearing up for the last day of their Irish tour which will be filled with activities around the county.
The sun shine brightly on Cahir as Charles and Camilla debuted the day at the market.
They took the time to marvel at what producers had on show at each stall, hearing more about their holdings and the way they crafted their produce.
Charles, who was wearing a smart light grey suit with a white skirt, light pastel pink tie and a grey pocket square spoke warmly with each of the farmers who were present.
He particularly marvelled at a collection of honey jars one producer had for sale, and put on an animated display as he walked from one stall to the other.

Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cornwall, donned an elegant forest green coat, over a straight dress of a matching colour, which she wore with a stylish cream blouse.
The ruffles of the shirt’s collar poked playfully from under her dress as she greeted the farmers at the market.
Camilla also adorned her coat with a Claddagh brooch pinned on her lapel.

She sported glamourous everyday make-up, with bronzer bringing colour to her cheeks and mascara and eyeshadow enhancing her blue eyes.
The Duchess was treated to some cakes from a local baker selling at the market.
Later on, the couple moved on to meeting royal fans who were waving the Irish flag as well the Ukrainian flag in support of the Ukrainian people.
Among the crowd, Charles spotted a very enthusiastic fan who happened to be celebrating her 97th birthday and warmly congratulated her on her milestone.
